New academic year for 2021-2022 to begin next year in Cambodia

After the pandemic-induced academic freeze, the Ministry of Education announced the start of the new academic year.

According to the announcement of the Spokesperson for the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports (MoEYS), Ros Soveacha, the new academic year of 2021-2022 will be kicked off on January 10. This is based on an announcement released by the Spokesperson released on November 5.

Soveacha also announced that the MoEYS has decided to delay the date of the examination for the higher secondary level. The new date was set for December 27.

“The exams must be conducted with the principles of law, justice, transparency, and acceptable results as well as health safety measures.”, the Spokesperson emphasized.

The examination date for the lower secondary level remains the same. As of the time of this report, it is announced that the examination will push through on November 15. Examinations will follow the format of the examination in the previous year.
