Malaysia’s borders should be opened to international visitors by January 1 next year, says National Recovery Council chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
Sinar Harian reported that Muhyiddin said the proposed move would speed up the recovery of the tourism sector.
“The country’s tourism sector has seen a slow recovery due to the absence of international tourists entering Malaysia.
“Besides, operators in this sector need time and resources to restart their businesses,” he said in a press conference on Thursday (Nov 11).
