Algeria’s decision to review its partnership with the European Union sparked controversy in Tunisia regarding the economic partnership that Tunisia concluded with the European Union “ALECA” years ago. Experts considered this partnership to be unequal and pointed out the need to re-evaluate it and review some of its items, to allow rebalancing as much as possible to the trade balance, by promoting Tunisian exports, especially olive oil, which is the second-largest producer in the world, or joining another parallel economic bloc such as the Arab Maghreb Union or the Arab Common Market.
