According to a Japanese official, it is assumed that more Japanese tourists will visit Siem Reap, the historical and cultural center of Cambodia.
The newly appointed Director of the Consular Office of Japan in Siem Reap, Kawaguchi Maski, is positive that more tourists from his country would visit Siem Reap once it reopens.
Director Kawaguchi expressed his optimism for the revival of the tourism sector and the resurgence of Japanese tourists in the province during a meeting with the Siem Reap Provincial Governor, Tea Seiha, on November 15.
Governor Seiha welcomed Director Kawaguchi for his mission in the province and expressed his appreciation for the Director’s optimism and commitment to cooperating with the tourism sector.
Governor Seiha also thanked the Consular Office of Japan in Siem Reap under the leadership of the outgoing director, Mitori Naoki, for the cooperation with and support of the provincial authorities.
Before the reopening of the province in January 2022, authorities have implemented several improvement projects, particularly in the Angkor Park area. According to the latest report, the construction project of 38 roads is nearing completion. Improvement and restoration of the Siem Reap River are also nearing completion.
