High money transfer rates have exhausted Yemeni people, daily wages labors in particular, where the variation in exchange rates has an impact on them. This reflects the level of conflict on the economic side, as the price of US Dollar reached about six hundred riyals in Houthi-controlled areas and double of this price in government-controlled areas. The two different rates splitting the country like it has two different currencies and the labors brow sweat is turned to waste by exchange companies, with the economic decline in all sectors, especially in the time many NGOs have reduced their humanitarian activities in Yemen. It is worth noting that the poverty rate is rising while the threat of starvation threatens millions of Yemenis, as the country seems to be in dire need of finding serious solutions that contribute to stopping the disaster.
