As a result of high unemployment rates and poverty in the Gaza Strip due to the siege imposed, thousands of laborers headed to the Palestinian Chambers of Commerce to obtain work permits to enter and work inside territories under Israeli control, after the Israeli Authorities provided facilities for more than 20 thousand labors, were they demanded the necessity of facilitating the issuance of permits for them. For nearly fifteen years, a strict siege was imposed on the Gaza Strip, where more than two million people live, and to reach the Israeli areas of Gaza, it is necessary to pass through the Beit Hanoun (Erez) crossing between the Strip and Israeli side.
