Members of Iraq’s “I am taking my right” Movement and the Civil Democratic Alliance, joined by civil rights activists, announced, during a press conference in Baghdad, that they will run in the upcoming parliamentary elections, slated for October 10.
Terming their endeavor “an electoral revolution” aiming at changing the ruling current political class and rebuilding Iraq, the activists called on citizens to select “honest” and “patriotic” candidates who, they said, “did not stain their hands with the blood of Iraqis, nor who used political money for their factional gains.”
