Cholapawatthana Lamtakong Power Plant Wins Thai National Tourisim ‘Kinnaree Award’
EGAT received the 13th Thailand Tourism Awards 2021 presented by Princess Ubol Ratana Rajakanya Sirivadhana Barnavadi for Lamtakong Jolabha Vadhana Power Plant in the category of educational tourist attraction and for EGAT Learning Center – Lamtakong of Nakhon Ratchasima Province.
On October 11, 2021, Princess Ubol Ratana Rajakanya Sirivadhana Barnavadi presided over the 13th Thailand Tourism Awards Ceremony for 2021 organized by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) via an online platform to assure the quality of Thai tourism products and services with social and environmental responsibility and sustainable standards. The awards also aim to encourage entrepreneurs to raise the quality of their products and services; develop “white tourism” that is convenient, clean, safe, fair, and environmentally friendly; create values to tourism products to be competitive on the global stage; and build confidence and create a positive impression on tourists in a new form of tourism, which is safe from COVID-19.
In the awarding ceremony, Mr. Boonyanit Wongrukmit, Governor of the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) was presented an excellent award from Thailand Tourism Gold Awards in the category of educational tourist attraction for Lamtakong Jolabha Vadhana Power Plant and an outstanding award from Thailand Tourism Awards for EGAT Learning Center – Lamtakong of Nakhon Ratchasima Province due to its role of providing knowledge to visitors.
Lamtakong Jolabha Vadhana Power Plant and EGAT Learning Center – Lamtakong are popular tourist attractions of Nakhon Ratchasima Province. Apart from good air quality and beautiful scenery, they are also learning centers on clean energy equipped with modern technologies. They join with communities to offer Khorat Geopark visit to the tourists. Besides, they are the sites where KORAT HALF Marathon Loifaa is held in December every year, as included in TAT’s calendar of events.
