Cambodia: duo Gangs arrested for causing violence at Kampot resort

Kampot Provincial Police arrested two gangs clashing with each other and causing a riot at a resort in Kampot Province.

The gangs, comprise of youth, were angry, pointed at each other and threw stones at the resort.

The incident took place at Tada Resort, Snom Prampi Village, Mark Prang Commune, Teuk Chhou District, Kampot Province at about 11:30 a.m. last Friday, causing panic to other visitors to the popular resort.

According to the National Police General Commission, acting on the orders of Major General Mao Chanthurith, Kampot Provincial Police Commissioner, the police force stepped up into break up the clash and arrested 15 people, including five females.

The first group arrested 6 people aged 16-17, whereas the second was made up of 9 people, aged 16-24.

The two groups were sent to the Kampot Provincial Police for processing.
