More than 3.5 million children and adolescents vaccinated against COVID-19

A total of 1,762,587 adolescents aged 12 to 17 have been vaccinated against COVID-19 since the campaign began on August 1, bringing the total percentage in this segment to 89.61 percent.

The number of fully vaccinated people reached 1,630,168, of whom 717 considered as ineligible to be vaccinated, and around 810,934 were females.

In the children’s category, which began on September 17, a total of 1,751,625 of them, aged six to 12 have received their first dose of the vaccine, 863,702 of which were females.

The total percentage of vaccinated children aged between 6-12 accounted for 92.32 percent.

Around 1.1 million still needs to be vaccinated in order to achieve the goal of vaccinating 91 per cent of the population against COVID-19.

Thus far, in all three age groups, a total of 13,324,971 have received at least their first jab, which leaves more than 1.1 million  in order to achieve the target of vaccinating 91 per cent of the population against COVID-19.

The total number of people who received their first jab stands at 13,324,971, they comprise 9,910,759 adults aged 18 and above, achieving 99.11 percent, 1,762,587 adolescents aged 12 to 17, achieving 89.61 percent and 1,751,625 children in the six to 12 years, achieving 92.32 percent.

Overall, Cambodia has achieved a highly remarkable 83.91 percent of its population vaccinated against COVID-19 and is among the very few countries in the world which started vaccinating adolescents, children as well as administering booster doses.
