Zoroastrians in Kurdistan celebrate (Mehregan) Day

Beginning of every fall season, the Zoroastrian religion which is considered one of the oldest religions in Iraq, celebrates the festival of (Mehregan) solemnizing the Crops Harvest, Wealth and Charity. Novels say that people on this day are exchanging crops to maintain their social communication between them. Allocating a yard filled with types of wheat, barley and other crops to be given as charity for those whom are in need. It is noteworthy that the Zoroastrian religion has emerged more than 3,000 years ago between the borders of Iraq and Iran. The number of Zoroastrians is estimated, according to estimates, about 300,000, most of who live in the Kurdistan region.
