Under same roof, Son finds father dead, mother unconscious after 2 days

Police on Monday recovered the decomposing body of an elderly man and rescued his unconscious wife from their Pallabi residence in Dhaka.

The deceased was identified as Rokonuddin Ahmed a former teacher of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, according to media reports.

Rupom, 40, the deceased’s son, who was in the next room, discovered his father’s decomposing body only after a strong odour filled the house.

From the initial report, police made the assumption that the man died a day or two ago.

Meanwhile, Nilufar Yeasmin, the deceased’s wife, was admitted to a private hospital’s intensive care unit.

Rupom told police that he last saw his parents in their room two days ago.

Pallabi police handed over the deceased’s body to his son without an autopsy and recorded an unnatural death case over the incident on Monday night.
