Several youth organizations in Raqqa, Syria, support children, especially orphans, to integrate them into society and keep them away from extremist and violent beliefs. The Sawaed Al-Furat Center offers psychological assistance classes to orphaned children of ISIS parents who have spent their lives in the battlefield, prisons, or camps. The organization targets the children of the al-Hol camp in particular, because of the hostile situation and behavioral deviations that exist among that group of children. The center serves orphaned children by providing psychological support, focus, and kinesthetic activities, as well as attempting to integrate these children with orphaned children with special needs, as well as holding awareness sessions for parents and alerting them to the dangers of children’s behavior to follow up on their educational and rehabilitation status at home.
