A raging wildfire started burning in southern Spain at the Sierra Bermeja mountain range in Malaga province late Monday.
Due to the incident, hundreds of people have been evacuated from this residential area, making an approximate number of 1,000 people.
Firefighting teams and planes were battling the blaze resulting in perish of a 44-year-old firefighter while trying to extinguish the fire.
Around 250 firefighters were working to put out the fire on the ground, helped by 29 planes, authorities said.
A major motorway, as well as two other smaller roads, were temporarily shut down because of smoke from the blaze.
The blaze expanded overnight on Thursday and has destroyed more than 3,600 hectares of forest land.
