Euphrates River attracts visitors in Raqqa, despite its low level

The banks of the Euphrates River are daily crowded with families and young people gathering during the evening to enjoy the summer days, the view of the river. People say that in the past they used to have more fun on the bank of the river when the water level was high, but the lack of water flow and its low level affected the people’s attraction negatively. The drop in the water level of the Euphrates River led to the formation of swamps and the emergence of pollution of the river water, in addition to the unpleasant odors emanating from the river water.
