During the three months of every fall season, Al Hawf Reserve, northern east of Yemen is considered one of the most captivating areas in the country. The reserve turns to be a natural masterpiece and the destination for thousands of tourists from inside and outside the country. The reserve is a center of biodiversity and a natural treasure full of rare plants and animals. About 65 species of birds and rare animals live in it, such as the Arab leopard, hyena, hedgehog, Arab wolf, red fox, ibex, deer, and others. Hawf was officially declared a natural reserve in August 2005, and it is considered one of the largest monsoon forests in the Arabian Peninsula.
