Despite the appalling reality fanned by the grueling war and the hurdles of living in a patriarchal society, thousands of women were forced into breaking retroactive norms that prohibit them from working in many jobs and daring to assume unusual roles to make their own living. Sumaya is among those strong women who after losing her husband was forced into providing for her 8 kids by selling ice cream in Nashamah in Taiz governorate. Despite the low revenue, Sumaya insists on enduring for the sake of her kids. It is worth mentioning that she goes to weddings and events to sell ice cream for kids and her son helps in delivering ice cream through his motorcycle
