Collective wedding for 52 couples in Taiz

Despite the grim conditions that Yemeni society is going through, especially in Taiz governorate, southern Yemen, community solidarity is still its most prominent feature, with an initiative to hold a Collective wedding in its fourth season. The initiative included 52 couples in the Al-Sunnah area of the Al-Ma’afer district in the countryside of Taiz governorate, it comes to reduce the costs of marriage for young people and burdens of wedding parties amid the poverty and deteriorating economic and living conditions that the country is witnessing, which made many young people unable to provide the bride’s dowry and pay the high costs of marriage. The initiative, which coincides with the wedding season in the Yemeni governorates, takes place after Eid al-Adha, intending to restore joys and celebrations in the country.
