Khovd province is a key region where Mongolia’s nomadic ethnic diversity can be seen. A total of 15 UNESCO World Heritage Sites have been registered in Mongolia, and more than 10 intangible cultural heritages are inherited in Khovd province in their original form. To develop sustainable tourism, Mongolia aims to develop cultural tourism in Khovd province based on intangible cultural heritage and petroglyphs, which are traces of ancient people. As part of this work, a total of $ 15,000 is earmarked for the construction of the museum of the Sustainable Tourism Project in 2020-2024, funded by the Asian Development Bank (The United States and Japan are the main funders). The local government has decided to build a 100-hectare tourist complex with a museum of intangible cultural heritage.
