On June 11, the Great Khural (Parliament) of Mongolia passed a resolution setting the date for the swearing-in of President-elect U. The People’s Party, U. Khurelsukh, led the vote with 823,326 votes, or 67.8 percent of the total, while D. Enkhbat, the Right Person’s electoral coalition candidate, followed with 246,968 votes (20.3 percent) and the Democratic Party candidate S. Erdene received 72,832 votes. (6 percent). 77 percent of the MPs voted for the resolution that U. Khurelsukh should be sworn in as the sixth President of Mongolia at 11.40 a.m.As stipulated in the Constitution of Mongolia, the President-elect shall take the following oath before the National Parliament within 30 days of the election:
“I swear that I will guard and defend the independence and sovereignty of Mongolia, freedom of the people and national unity, and that I will uphold and observe the Constitution and faithfully perform the duties of the President”.
