People of Hadramawt governorate, southeastern Yemen, were compelled to take the “Aqabat Kiteba” as an escape for them amid excess temperature witnessed in the governorate during the summer, and the lack of parks in Yemen’s biggest governorate, not to mention the desire of many people to quit the war in the country and the deteriorating economic conditions. The “Aqabat Kiteba” is a road leading to the top of the Kiteba Mountain and overlooking the city of Tarim, as it connects the cities of Hadhramaut Valley with the desert. Despite that this remote desert place lacks all basic services such as drinking water and toilets; it did not prevent residents and even foreign students from taking it as a tourist place for their outings with their families and friends, to relax, and to search for the cool breezes of the cool air at the top of Aqabat.
