Surat Thani, Thailand bans its provincial staff from leaving the province

The Surat Thani authorities have banned all provincial workers and state-owned companies from leaving the province without urgent reasons in order to control the Covid-19 crisis in the region. The order was signed by Governor Wichawut Jinto on Friday. Authorities have been shutting down Ko Raet Island since Friday, after a resident of the island tested positive for Covid-19.
