Public hospitals in Cambodia must screen patients for COVID-19

Health Minister Mam Boon Heng has ordered all state hospitals to screen patients for COVID-19 before being hospitalized. Zhan Wenxing (Mam Boon Heng) instructs the director-general of the national hospitals, especially the directors of the National Maternal and Child Health Center, the recommended hospitals of large cities/provinces, cities/districts, to ensure that medical services are provided in public hospitals when the following occurs: outbreaks. Regarding COVID-19, Boon Heng said that in general and emergency hospitals, standard operating procedures for the prevention and control of COVID-19 infection are adopted, and doctors can use rapid COVID-19 antigen testing to classify patients (if needed) ). He added that all private doctors should provide additional separate rooms for patients who test positive for COVID-19 responsibly and indiscriminately for emergency medical, surgical and obstetric care. He said that if the patient’s condition improves, he can be transferred to the COVID-19 department for treatment.
