The lack of artistic foreign missions reflect a harsh reality on sculpture

The sculpture is one of the significant arts that have reflected Mesopotamia’s picture throughout ancient history. The ancient Assyrians were among the most influential sculptors today, as their work has a prominent position in the labor museums. Sculpture in Iraq is not recent, it is a legacy that Iraqis inherited from their ancestors and developed through Time. Salam Al-Madamgah, the Iraqi sculptor, states that the Ministry of Education used to send artists on foreign missions to develop their artistic skills, but this is no longer the case; the Iraqi student who enrolls in the Institute of Fine Arts does not have any access to knowledge easily, or has trouble communicating it.
