The International Monetary Fund stated that Vietnam will become a country with accelerated economic growth in ASEAN in 2022, and Cambodia will become a top economy in 2026.
According to the latest report of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Vietnam is expected to become an ASEAN economy with accelerating growth in 2022.
In the World Economic Outlook released earlier this week, the International Monetary Fund predicted that Vietnam’s 2022 economic growth would be 7.2%, followed by the Philippines (6.5%), Malaysia and Cambodia (6%).
It is estimated that by 2026, Cambodia will become a country with accelerated growth in the region, with a GDP growth of 6.8%.
This year’s GDP growth (regional economies that will accelerate in the long term will be the Philippines (6.9%), Malaysia and Vietnam (6.5%), Singapore (5.2%), Laos (4.6%), developing countries (4.3%) and Cambodia 4.2%)).
In 2020, due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, some ASEAN economies have experienced strong contractions: the Philippines (9.5%), Thailand (6.1%), Malaysia (5.6%), Singapore (5.4%) and Cambodia (3.5%) ) )).
