Hùng Kings festival starts in Phú Thọ

The main holiday commemorating the anniversary of the death of the King of Democracy (Hùng Vương) established by the King of Vietnam yesterday was an antique offering ceremony at the main temple in the northern province of Phú Thọ.

President Nguyễn Xuân Phúc, together with representatives of the party, state, government, and people of the whole country, made a pilgrimage on the central square at the foot of the mountain to NghĩaL Mountnh, and reached the Đền Thượng (High Temple) on the top of the mountain.

PhúThọ officials prayed for the legendary ancestors to pass on good weather, fight off diseases, especially the COVID-19 pandemic, and bring wealth and happiness to the Vietnamese people far and near.

They provided flowers and offerings to the late king, as well as 100 young people in ancient costumes. They represented the 100 descendants of the mountain fairy uCơ and the sea dragon lord Lạc Long Quân. These people constituted the creation myth of the Vietnamese people.

Bùi Văn Quan, chairman of the People’s Committee of Puta Province, presided over this year’s ceremony. He read a speech commemorating King Hong, emphasizing the essence of the memorial day and praising the king and the king’s merits. And L’cLongQuân and praised the perseverance of the ancestors to safeguard the integrity of national sovereignty.

The speech also promised to build a strong country and maintain peace and friendship with all mankind.

Quang also reported to the King’s spirit the country’s major achievements in đổimới, international integration and socio-economic development.
