Residents said that forces from the coup regime shot and killed displaced civilians in the town of Minich in the Mandalay region on Tuesday, wounding six people.

The victims came from the Yankin Ward in the town. Their bodies were cremated at the Myitnge Myoma Cemetery at 9 am on Wednesday.

Locals said that the shooting started with government officials trying to prevent strikes and joining civil servants in the Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM).

She said: “They come to attract civil servants from the military’s CDM.” “The residents came out to protest, and they started shooting at them.”

She said: “They are shooting all day today. So we can’t go out.”

She added that at around 2pm on Wednesday, soldiers destroyed the roadblocks set up by locals and opened fire on the houses in Thaksin’s ward.

A resident said that a donation box in a local mosque was also destroyed and the money inside was taken away by soldiers.

They added: “We still don’t know how much money they made. They are still blocking the area, so we can’t go out.”

The military is said to be unable to comment on the killing and robbery.

According to locals, the soldiers also opened fire in the nearby village of Hpa Paung on Wednesday night, although they were unable to provide more details at the time of the report.

A rescue worker in Myitnge said that due to the dangers, volunteers for treating injured people and collecting dead bodies are scarce.

He added that a man was shot and killed on Tuesday in the town of Sintgaing, about 16 kilometers from Myitnge. The situation is not good at all. ”

Residents there say that more than 100 people protest in Myitnge every day.

According to the Political Prisoners Correction Association, which has been monitoring violence and correcting incidents since the February 1 coup, the new regime has killed at least 715 people, including more than 40 children.
