ASEAN leaders met with Myanmar’s Director-General Min Aung Lalin in Jakarta yesterday to reach a five-point consensus on how to resolve the country’s political crisis. The points are: 1) immediately end the violence in Myanmar; 2) constructive dialogue between all relevant parties to seek a peaceful solution to the people’s interests; 3) the ASEAN President’s special envoy to mediate with the assistance of the Secretary-General. 4) Humanitarian assistance from the ASEAN Center AHA; and 5) Special envoys and delegations visit Myanmar to hold meetings with all relevant parties. The above remarks were made after the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) meeting in Jakarta. This is the first visit by senior Myanmar generals after the security forces launched a coup in early February and overthrew the civil leader Daw Aung San Suu Kyi (Daw Aung San Suu Kyi). General Min Aung Hlaing became the center of an international coup, which and the subsequent suppression of dissent left more than 700 people behind. Widodo said on Saturday: “The first promise is that the Myanmar military will stop using violence and all parties should avoid easing tensions at the same time.” Singapore’s Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong called for the release of Suu Kyi for house arrest. Li said: “The chief executive “listens to us”-the constructive role or visit of the ASEAN delegation or humanitarian assistance, they move forward and cooperate constructively with ASEAN.” Pramudeviniya also proposed to reduce Violence, reduction of humanitarian aid, release of prisoners and dialogue at the ASEAN summit to provide Myanmar with a way forward for D4D, Tang said on behalf of Prime Minister Prayut Chan-och at the meeting. Before Saturday’s talks, there were large-scale protests that were brutally suppressed and killed hundreds of people. Security officials staged small protests outside their headquarters in Jakarta. The demonstrators wore blue shirts that symbolized prisoners. In Yangon, residents imitated the funeral of high-ranking generals by beating saffron-colored clay pots on the floor, which is a symbol of unraveling the relationship with the dead.
