During the Barangay Soledad trade here before dawn on Sunday, 270,000 Philippine pesos worth of shabu (a common pill containing a mixture of methamphetamine and caffeine) was seized and two suspected drug trafficking suspects were killed. Alexi Desamito, director of the Narcotics Department of the Nueva Ecija Provincial Police Department (NEPPO), identified one of the suspects as Manny de Guzman, a resident of San Rafael, Bulacan; another death has not been confirmed.In his report to the provincial police chief, Colonel Jaime Santos, Dizamito said that when the police tried to arrest the suspects who were selling drugs to undercover agents, the suspects “started shooting”. He added that when responders defended themselves and fired back, the suspect suffered fatal gunshot wounds. DeSamito said that 11 envelopes containing the suspect Sha were confiscated from the suspect, with an estimated capacity of 35 to 40 grams.
