“Hurman Women” is the title given to a group of women from the Hurman area in the Sulaymaniyah city that makes projects for women. Helala Shawkat, the group’s official and the owner of “Kalana Bread” project says that the group was established in 2018 in Sulaymaniyah city, and it currently includes 200 women working in various fields. The “Kalana bread” project empowers women and “Klana” bread is ancient Kurdish folk bread, that is natural and preservatives free, and is served in the morning to customers with some milk and tea. The “Kalana” bread consists of green onions and some natural flavors, and it is one of the old Kurdish foods prepared in the winter in particular.
