Khaled Jafar, an example of overcoming disabilities

Disability isn’t physically or in the senses, rather in the soul and the will. Will is the only one that can repay one for their impairment. This is how Khaled Jaafar has overcome the loss of both hands caused by random mines planted in the agricultural lands in the Kut area. “Jaafar” looked happy as he could ride motorcycles and drive cars in an unusual situation. He, a father of three children, stated that his ability to master driving helped him to work in all the governorates without facing any accident. The Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq, Christine McNab, had suggested that mining-contaminated areas cover an area of 1,730 square kilometers, disrupts about 1.6 million Iraqis living in about 1,600 local communities in Iraq. Mines threaten the right of Iraqis to live, freely and peacefully, and they are an imminent danger to the economic development of the country.
