Yemen – Prohibitively high prices of fish, and the Houthi militia deprive the Yemenis from their basic products
Fish prices are prohibitively high in Taiz, southern Yemen, with a severe drop in supply. Citizens relate this to the frequent attacks on fishermen by the Houthi militia on the Yemeni coasts and fishing water on the Red Sea, besides roads blockages by the militia too. Fish prices have seen a remarkable rise, ranging from 50 to 80%, relative to their prices in the local markets a month earlier where the price of one kg reached 5000 Yemeni riyals (about $ 20).
