With the resumption of the second semester, public and private schools in Jordan are gradually opening their doors in an initial phase that includes kindergarten, first grade, and general secondary, of the academic year 2021-2020, according to the director of Sahab’s directorate of education, Atallah Al-Maqableh. The first phase of the resumption included 410 thousand and 668 students, out of more than two million. Al-Maqableh praised the school’s adherence to health measures of putting on masks, hands sanitizing, and social distancing in classes, as long as assigning a health observer to ensure public safety measures. A member of the National Committee for Epidemics, Bassam Hajjawi, previously stated that the stability of the epidemiological situation in Jordan and the decline in the epidemic curve led to gradually return of school as before under a clear health protocol, including teachers and drivers who transport students, to ensure that they do not spread the virus.
