Malnutrition poses a threat to the lives of thousands of Yemeni children, as the cases of fatigue and sickness rise among them, especially in rural areas that experience grim living conditions as a result of the Houthi militia’s war on the city, that affected children, who lack food. Several families suffer because they need to travel long distances to get children Taiz for treatment, especially those families from Jabal Habashi and other rural areas. The trip to Al-Mudhaffar Hospital in Taiz takes a while, due to the shift in the road map enforced by the Houthi militia, which led to an increase in the rates of acute and moderate malnutrition among children. Statistics of the TFC Malnutrition Center reports that the number of malnutrition cases was roughly 225 between January and September of 2020.
