The US has imposed sanctions on the Chief of Staff of the Popular Mobilization Forces in Iraq, Abdul Aziz al-Muhammadawi, known as (Abu Fadak). The US State Department stated that Abdul Aziz Mullah Mujirish al-Muhammadawi is recognized as a global terrorist, and listed in the Executive Order 13224, adding that “Al-Muhammadawi” is the former Secretary-General of Kata’ib Hezbollah, which is backed by Iran and seeks to support Tehran’s evil agenda in the region, and which the US recognized as a terrorist organization.

Meanwhile, political experts see that the recent sanctions against the leadership of the PMF would offer an opening for serious work for other personalities opposing the PMF.
