Iraq: Kurds are Riled Up by Iranian Movie that Glories Soleimani and Offends Barzani

Small Narrations” movie riled up Kurds in Iraq as it glorifies the role of the Iranian military commander- Qassem Soleimani in the war against ISIS while intentionally underestimating the Kurds’ role in this war. Officials in the Iraqi Kurdistan region described it as an “insult” to their leadership and hundreds of their militants who lost their lives in the war against ISIS. Iran’s official news agency, Fars News published the “Tavako” episode which focuses on Soleimanis’s role in fighting ISIS in Iraqi Kurdistan.
