On Wednesday, the Lebanese army issued its first statement after declaring a two-week state of emergency in Beirut, following the violent explosion that rocked its port yesterday.

The army leadership called on the citizens to evacuate the area in front of the rescue operations and raise the damage caused by the explosion.

It asked the owners of houses and property located in the area surrounding the explosion to abide by the measures taken and to cooperate with the security forces deployed in the place.

The Army Command warned all local and foreign media against the use of drone planes in the entire Beirut area, as these planes have a negative impact on the movement of helicopters working to extinguish fires and assist in relief work.

In its statement, the army leadership expressed its condolences to the families of the martyrs of the catastrophic explosion, wishing the speedy recovery of the wounded and the injured.
