A Saturday night assault in a Forbury Gardens park in Reading (60 km west of London) killed three people and seriously wounded three others.
British police announced the arrest of the alleged bomber, a 25-year-old man from Redding, who is currently excluded from the attack, as a terrorist, adding that he was placed in pretrial detention.
According to eyewitnesses, the attacker started shouting incomprehensible words before he went towards a group of people trying to attack them with a knife, as he stabbed a group of people and fled.
From his side, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson was quick to express his solidarity with the residents of Reading. “I think of all those who were affected by the shocking events in Reading,” he said on Twitter, expressing his thanks to the emergency units.
