Jordan calls for negotiations to protect Jordan’s interests and beware of “any unilateral Israeli measures”
On Tuesday, Jordan’s Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi called for serious and direct negotiations that address all final status issues including protecting Jordan’s interests and warned against “the dangerous consequences of any Israeli unilateral measures aimed at imposing new facts on the ground,” noting that the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital Eastern is the only way to achieve a comprehensive and lasting peace in the Middle East. This is in response to the US President’s announcement of what he called “the Middle East peace plan.”
