America will send additional forces to the Middle East

The Pentagon announced that the United States will send about 3,000 additional soldiers to the Middle East from the 82nd Airborne Division as a precautionary measure amid escalating threats to American forces in the region, after Iran threatened to avenge after an assassination that resulted in the Qassem Soleimani carried out by the United States in Iraq.
