Al-Tahrir demonstrators celebrate the amendment of the electoral law

Iraqi demonstrators in Tahrir Square, in the center of the capital, Baghdad, celebrated the House’s approval of the new election law that allows voters to choose members of parliament on an individual basis rather than from party lists, which gives more room to run independents away from political parties and blocs.
