King Abdullah of Jordan visits a land on the border of the Kingdom with Israel after the end of the Baqoura and Ghamr Agreement
Jordan’s King Abdullah II visited an enclave on the edge of the kingdom’s northern border with Israel, a day after the expiry of a 25-year special agreement that allowed Israeli farmers to enter Jordanian land. On Sunday, the king formally declared the end of the special order, which prolonged what some described as Israeli occupation of Jordanian territory.
