A UN official in Lebanon calls for an efficient government

A senior United Nations official in Lebanon has called for a new government to be formed quickly with well-known personalities, adding that such a government would be better placed to seek international aid. “The financial and economic situation is critical and the government and other authorities cannot wait any longer to address it,” UN Special Coordinator for Lebanon Jan Kubish said in a statement after meeting President Michel Aoun.
